- : Huh? Take workbench from ROMS? I didn't even know Workbench was "IN" the
- : ROMS! Workbench is the disk you insert after initial bootup (for non HD
- : owners) and the disk(s) you install on your HD if you have one so it is
- : already out of ROMS. This is the equivalent to PC Windows "Program
- : Manager" or the new interface with the "start" option in Windows '95. I
- : shouldn't say equivalent as Workbench still has a lot of advantages but
- : some disadvatages (non multithreaded and not as fancy appearance anymore
- : without third party additions).
-
- : Surely you meant Kickstart, which is basically the ROMS anyway. Taking
- : this out of ROMS would mean more RAM and and would be a hit on performance.
-
- Sigh... George, did you ever hear of workbench.library? There would be no
- hit on performance, .010 sec delay in booting maybe and around 80k of ram.
